yup. it's a sea monster that supposedly sleeps under the sea in a city known as Ry'leh. it has telekinetic abilities, will supposedly eat the souls of every human on the planet when it wakes up, and even has a whole cult dedicated to him. They supposedly believe that after he awakens from his slumber, he will lead them all away to paradise.

I don't smoke. I always tell my friends whoever are smoking to stay away from me because whenever I smell the smoke, I just start coughing.

I tried it when I was a kid, maybe around 10 or 11 something like that. One puff and never touch it again.

I don't mind people smoking, if that's their choice, we can't make people do what we want them to do so it's their choice and they know what they're risking...

he is otherwise known as a 'great old one'. they are god like beings that inhabit the universe. Cthulhu (sometimes called the Kraken) is the main focus of worship by a particular cult in south america nd Haiti. the cult surrounding him believe that he is a servant of the outer god 'yog-shoggoth', and try to awaken him from his slumber in the sunken city of Ry'leh, so that he can return to rule the Earth. Yog-shoggoth is also a subject of worhip, and is one of the many dancers in the court of Azzathoth, who dance to keep Azzathoth in his eternal slumber. They also believe that, were Azzathoth to awaken from his eternal slumber, his dream that is universe will cease to exist. there's also a ton of occult summoning rituals which are practised by the members of the different occult sects, but I have yet to know how to use any of them ._.'...

so, aside from the occult parts of the cult.. I find it pretty similar to Norse religion :0
