I tell people that this is better than anything else on TV and if they don't like it that they can go screw themselves.

I also criticize people who watch reality TV shows, but those who have defended them have come to the same realization

No matter what you choose to do in life, someone will always say that it sucks. The main thing to keep in mind is to watch something if you like it and not give a flying rats ass about anyone who says otherwise.

Usually whenever someone gives me a hard time about watching anime I just suggest that they watch one of the more adult oriented anime's like Perfect Blue. Usually after they see something like that they tend to leave me alone about anime and sometimes even ask what anime's I think they should see.

Also quote I put in my signature, from a book I'm reading, seems to fit the bill for this kind of stuff too.

Who cares what other people think? If you like it, you like it. Screw them.

When I first got intrested in anime, I was afraid that I would get teased because of I heard people say it was a stupid hobby.

Overtime, I began to like it alot more and felt more comfortable about it. What got me to be more open was a friend that I met who was very open about liking anime. But, only a few people know I like anime, so I don't talk about it unless it's a subject someone else brings up. The people who do know I like it call me a closet otaku...

The show can also be changed to "Yugioh" and "Pokemon" and there you have it for me.

I also get this two as well.
Sometimes when I'm bored and someone asks me what's anime I answer with "those cartoons with the big eyes" ~.~;;

Talking about anime it's not something I usually do; I know many people are not open minded about accepting other people's likes, I only mention it when I know someone else likes it, because either s/he mentioned it or s/he has something anime related and carries it proudly (though some actually just buy it because they thought it looks "cute" or "awesome") and so we discuss about different shows and give each other recommendations on what to watch.

"Anime: Japan's secret weapon for World Domination."

I usually get that, or

"Then they should make an OBAMA anime! :D "

Oh well, who cares what people say. I like anime. Enough said.

No there isn't, not a real one at any rate. There's a Japanese town called Obama, though, and they've re-themed the entire place after him...

Why people can't understand why we watch all this pokémon stuff that's made for little children?

That's an easy one.
Unlike these cartoon-thingies, Desperate Housewives and Sex and the city clearly portray stories that could be taken STRAIGHT FROM REAL LIFE.
That's why it's so much better. After all, anything not real is shitty because I can't be bothered to retrieve my brain from my ass.
Besides, it's quite comfy having it up there so I don't see a reason to.

This message was brought to you with an added dose of (Un?)limited Sarcasm Works(?) by request of someone not-quite-as-GAR-as-he'd-like-to-be.

On a side-note, Lewis Black has had quite a bit to say about your former president. It seems to some extent likely that he won't be able to say as much about this new one.
I hope that's true~

But Kuuk, did they seriously remodel Obama?

Most of my friends laugh at me because i watch anime and shows like lost and such. I usually just tell them that i am sorry that unlike them i can wrap my head around a show that actually has a plot and characters. All they watch is stuff like family guy and south park, which i love by the way, but it doesn't really involve you thinking and remembering key terms like in shows with a deep, intricate storyline.
