I never said I wouldn't do it with a hot alien chick. But I consider anything thats over 300 years old and has bones outside of its skin to be necro.

Near gets on my nerves though, not cause he acts like a kid, but because he takes on Kira incredibly boringly. And that he has the amazing ability to guess exactly right, more so than L did, then Ohba justified it with that "start with a theory" crap.

I liked Near's tactics, myself. And to be fair, he was literally given all of L's data and conclusions, so he pretty much had no choice but to conclude that Kira is Light.

I didn't say they didn't work, I'm just saying it was rather boring to read. And even then, I don't see how he came to the conclusion that Mikami is X-Kira. No matter how times I read it, I still can't figure it out.

I get that he realizes that Mikami had the same ideals and same style as Kira, but I doubt he is the single true Kira worshipper who thinks like Kira does. There could have been a hundred people/suspects who could have had the same ideology as Kira, yet Near strike the very one on the head simply from watching him talk. I don't know about you, but that is incredibly boring to just guess and guess right. Maybe they could have stalked a couple of people not knowing which one is Kira, like in the Yotsuba case. Would have been much more interesting. Then again, I can't really ridicule how Ohba did it, since she is the author.

I can see where you're coming from, but there were people claiming to be Kira, I doubt that Mikami it the only person to say something outlandish involving Kira on TV. Any Kira worshiper could have said that.

Mikami was the only one who was able to actually seize screen time on a nation-wide television show and hold the spotlight for a good five or six minutes. It was worth investigating, at the very least. Anti-Kira factions have always investigated every "Watashi wa Kira dess" claim since the beginning, so this is nothing new.

EDIT: Just heard Mikami's voice today. It was rather good, nothing to noticeable though. In the episode, though, I was at the final second the word God wasn't said along with the picture, ruined it for me. Almost made me laugh.

Hands down, I believe this is one of the best combinations of voice actors in one anime for sometime. I was relieved when Teru Mikami was voiced by Kirby Morrow because I was expecting someone with a deeper toned voice, such as Crispin Freeman. But I have to hand it to the one's who picked these voice actors for Death Note. They know what they are doing.

Totally. Kirby Morrow is probably the best voice for Mikami possible. Death Note is the best dub I've seen since .hack//Sign, and that's saying something.
