Over, time for new?

Post by Eviltim »

The game was fun and all, but once everything is kind of done and the story is over it gets boring. So is there going to be like a new dot hack story or game that is going to be made? I wonder.

I would hope so. I really enjoyed this series. I hope they keep making them like the "Final Fantasy" games.

Thats one of the most disgraceful things a person can ever say.

The day .hack ends up like Final Fantasy is the day the world shall end.

To force .hack to suffer thaat fate is wrong. .hack is a respectable game series and shouldn't have to deal with the bull thats the likes of Final Fantasy. Seriously, it would destroy .hack.

Well that's your point of view. But happen to like the "Final Fantasy" series. Most of them not all though. I would just like to see the .hack series have the same longevity as the Final Fantasy series. So if you find my comment disgraceful...whatever man... deal.

Dude, come on, be realistic. There's no way .hack is slutty enough to spawn like 13+ goddamned sequels.

No, but I would still like to see a few more. Given the same people did it.

Ironic how there is probably never going to be a FINAL final fantasy.

Final fantasy well...

the thing with that is two things;

It's never Final

It's another world/dimension and therefore no crossover.

.Hack can't do that due to the fact it's only spanning over 10 years or something and crossovers can happen and etc.

So do any of you think that there will be another .hack series? Cubia seems to neutralized, so I'm not sure who or what could be the next antagonist.

Actually they can span alot

CC Corp wanted avatars, now they have Avatars.

Avatars have an emotional/mind link to players and can influence them <Vol 1 when Haseo gets angry 'I'LL EAT YOU ALIVE!' and edgy>

So, if they can get that and control people then they can turn from a gaming company to like..War.

Yah, my speculation.

Technically, it wouldn't be a .hack only game. I played the imported Capcom VS. Namco from Japan. Now that Namco and Bandai are together...well...think about it.

Go watch the roots episodes now. They made new ones that take place after GU. It talks about what happens after word.

I would deffinitly would like to see another game series or even an anime of the next storyline.

Like something like CC Corp tries rip their epitaphs from their PCs to get control of the Avatars for themselfs, but something goes wrong and the avatars go berserk and cause havoc in the world again like in R1. So its up to Haseo and crew to track down their avatars and reintegrate them back into their PC's or else they'd be like Atoli in Vol 2 where her PC's hand was damaged and her hand in the real world became paralised.

Or someone stumbles into the Creators Room and finds the Book of Twilight and uses it and they end up with an updated version of Kites braclet and he goes power mad and some new/old hero has to stop him from destroying the world.

Or maybe even now that Haseo has obsorbed all 8 epitaphs into his PC somehow causes the Morgana progam to start up again inside of him. But he's totally unaware of it and it uses his experiences to try and create another Ultimate AI, but every one it tries to create is imperfect and they start to cause problems in the world. In which Haseo teams up with the rest of the GU team again to hunt them down. And its not tell the very end that they realise that all these AI's are coming from Haseo and he has to destroy his PC in order to have the world again.

Or somehow AIDA returns, either the same way they did originally or someone unwittingly saved an AIDA on a device, like burned it onto a disk without knowing it or on a computer that was being repaired or upgraded and disconnected it from the network before the Rebirth occured and then sometime afterward that device is put back on the network and the AIDA reinfects the network again. So Haseo has to hunt them down again.

Maybe something like a quest to find Ovan. Like parts of his mind are scattered throughout the world and Haseo has to collect them to bring Ovan back. But each piece has taken the form of powerfull monsters that are as strong as Avatars and the only way to get Ovan's parts out of them is with Data Drain.

Well anyways thats just a few idea's that have come to mind. I'm sure the writers probably have many more idea's.

I wouldn't mind playing as the opposite side, like, have Cubia come back as a PC and play him as the main character. Just something new to it like that.

I believe in the .hack//XXXX manga Cubia was in the form of a PC. That was dark reflection of Kite's PC (minus the hat). That would be really interesting to play from Cubia's perspective.

They probably will, and it will most likely be set in "R:3". What makes me think that? One of the minor PCs (I think it was Sayke or something) hints to an R:3.
As much as I love .hack, I kind of hope they don't make a new one. Though I'd be ok if they did, but I don't want to see another a repeated plot or fourth network crisis... I would rather have a character that's not special in anyway as well.  I hated the whole "Haseo is the Key of the Twilight" thing. (Though it did bring cause for some awkward thoughts....) It'd be interesting to play form an existing character's point of view, you know how it was rumored that Another Birth was going to be a game instead of a novel, like that, what it was rumored to be. At least a game where you can play something other than a twinblade, or better yet! Give some chose of what character you can play as! They should leave out love hints as well, and let the fans decide, plus I'm sick of all these love triangles, CC2 overuses it way to much.  (First with Waffle, Terria and Alicia, then Kite, Ryoko and BlackRose, and recently Haseo, Atoli and Alkaid!)

It's kinda silly that people are attacking FF on here...I'm guessing because it's mainstream and .hack isn't. I'm no FF fanboy, I haven't yet even got around to playing FFXII, but FF sequels are huge, complete games that have left a made a mark on gaming history. The 2 .hack "series" will only ever be remembered as cash cows with an interesting concept.

I'm feeling a little down about the main storyline of G.U. being over, but not very much since I feel let down by the anti-climatic ending of the story. The amazing climax to the story I'd hoped for never happened, leaving me trying to enjoy what's left of the game - A 100 floor dungeon in an already repetitive game. >_<

Will we see more .hack games? Depends on the sales figures of G.U.. If we do see another "series", I just hope they build on the story and characterization in G.U. and work on making the gameplay side less repetitive.
