Earthbound was a great game, i give you that. However, NOT the most wonderfull game and crap like you said. It was good, but there are a few out there alot better than that. Final Fantasy Tactics. Is one, Chrono Trigger is another. Final Fantasy X, Disgea, and the American version of Final Fantasy VI. Seven was also great. Earthbound was good like you said, but its not on top of the list.

despite what you may think, I didn't post what I said to get into AT's pants. EarthBound has been my favorite game since I was 6 or 7, and will continue to be until I play something better. To me, it is basically the greatest game ever created. (Then again, I havent played Mother 3 yet. I'm waiting for the fan translation to play).

And I thought it was completely obvious just by the sheer rediculousness of my post that I was exaggerating. It was supposed to be stupid and show my absolute fandom for the game.

Not to offend or anything, but Fable sucked. Hard. I dont know if it was because all the hype or what, but the Fable I played was a mediocre action RPG that delivered on none of its original promises. Being good or evil had no effect on the outcome of the story, that single choice you make after the final boss is what effects the story.

The best? Who knows? I've got atleast 30 sitting in front of me.

Let's see. Some of my favorites would be Grandia, Lunar: Silver Star Story, Chrono Cross, FFT, Thousand Arms, Breath of Fire IV, Wild Arms 3, KH2, Star Ocean 3, FF7, the .hack games (duh), and many many more. Haha, at this rate I'd just list everything I have which... would be way too much. It's so hard to say because they are all so good in one way or another.

My favorite though, over all, would most likely be Grandia. It's almost impossible to choose which is best. Even weird games like Threads of Fate were fun.

The choices aren't bad but none really fit as best in my eyes.

Oh? All I've ever played is Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete. Found it by chance. Was a good game. The part I liked the most though didn't have anything to do with the story. Well it did, in a way. I noticed as you progress what people say, in towns and such, changes costantly as the story evolves. It was a nice touch and added a feel that what you did had an on going impact on the world around you.

Eternal Blue looks interesting. Shame I never got a chance to play it.

It sucked because of all the previous hype. I waited years for fable to come out, falling into the hype machine of "it will be the best RPG ever!" But what I got was nowhere near the greatest RPG of the year, much less of all time. And I never said it was the worst game I ever played either. I called it mediocre. And it was. We were promised a massive world without boundaries, combat that would blow your mind, a story that changed along with your moral decisions, and a truly epic story. Instead it was a mostly-linear brawler that gave us one rather simple decision after the final boss to decide the end of the game, and a lackluster story that felt (to me) like it was an afterthought. So I'm no sheep, just someone who waited a very long time for a disappointing game. I'm still holding out hope for Falbe 2, however. While I'm not placing unrealistic expectations upon it like I did Fable 1, it still looks to be a pretty good game.

I dont know what reviews of Mother 3 you've read, but Famitsu in Japan gave it 39/40, and every review from an english source has also given it high scores (though they are less trustworthy in regards to their reviews since they are most likely EB fanboys like me who would give it a 10 even if it sucked). The reason Nintendo hasn't brought it stateside is because of EarthBound's poor sales on the SNES.

Anyway, dont attack me personally because of my opinion on a video game.

If you had any dislikes with Fable then you should have played Fable: Lost Chapters. It's got more quests and, except for Jack's voice and them weakening the Sword of Aeons, is all around better. I can't remember if it's also in Fable, but in Lost Chapters being either good or bad DID effect certain parts of the game like being only able to raise certain skills to certain levels. PLUS YOU GET TO FIGHT A DRAGON!!! It may not be the BEST game there is, but Lost Chapters is certainly a must play for serious RPGers.

I didn't suck it just wasn't as good as it should have been. Again Fable 2 is gonna be awesome. 1 attack button mash will never look better than Fable 2.

Well at least you havent lost all hope. You should try the lost chapters, but as long as your going to give Fable 2 a chance. Good stuff.

This is tough one.

Final Fantasy
Has replay value and memorable characters. It also introduced us to Sephiroth the badass catalyst! After a while though of having to either restart cause you forgot to pick up something or you picked the wrong characters to level up does get annoying.

.hack (all of them)
no real replay value after the 2nd or 3rd time but great story line and really dives into the human mind and emotions.

Kingdom Hearts
Replay value and has final fantasy characters. Also it's fun to take a trip down memory lane cause I grew up with half of those moies. The second one also improved the series as well. What I don't like is that they get all dark serious and badass and that's cool but then they let a disney writer get in there and writes some sappy crap all about love and how that is the ultimate weapon....uh huh....

Rogue Galaxy
Great game with a lot of side missons and a ok storyline especially towards the end. But once you get all the stuff and replay it you don't really want to do that again. I know after I did that I stopped cause the time it took to do half the stuff about 2 months of my life were gone. Also the story is to straight forward and their is not really that much drama. It went back to the "go here do this but to do that you need to do this kind of thing" and it didnd't help that it was technically a hack and slash kind of game.

Fable
Great with the whole bad and evil but it dosen't really effect anything cause at the end you either become good or evil that's it and then there is no missons left...so when you win and end it...that's it.

If I had to choose one the one I choose wouldn't even be on this list. It would have to be

THE LEGEND OF DRAGOON!!!!!!!!!

This game was great it had replay value, secret things to find, a really hard side boss, and for that time and graphics it was really great plus the story just kept adapting and evolving so you didn't know what was gonna happen next. After you got done (or at least me) you played it again cause you went thorugh with one group and wanted to do it with another. So this is my vote for the best the only problem...they only made one

P.S. If anyone who can do something for them to remake it or make a sequal is reading this (which I highley doubt that) please please please make a sequal or redo it!!!!!!!!!!1

.Hack GU is my favourite RPG series, but as for favourite RPG game it would have to be Final Fantasy 3/6 hands down.
