I think Fruits Basket covers up to volume 8 actually. The manga has 23 volumes. I liked it and think it's worth a look.

But...my friends frequently recommend me Code Geass & D.Gray Man. Are they really good?
Don't know about Code Geass but I liked D.Gray Man. It was really weird at first and I didn't think I would like it but after a couple episodes I got really into it so yeah, worth checking out I think.

There are so many that I like:

RahXephon - its most often compared to Evangelion, and the two are easily compared, but I like RahXephon more. Mainly because the main character isn't as whiny as Shinji, and when he is whiny, he has at least a half-decent reason for it. (Most of the time)

Rurouni Kenshin - My favorite anime of all time. It drags on and on and on, but I don't really count anything after the Shishio Story Arc to be canon, though it probably is. (It gets ridiculous after that story arc)

Elfin Lied - I know a lot has already been said, but I had to mention it again. This is such a great anime its ridiculous. The gore is awesome, the story is better, and its just so delightfully ****ed up, you cant help but love it.

Noir - I never got to finish it, sadly, but from what I've seen, its awesome. I really liked everything, especially the action scenes and music.

Gundam Wing - Great series. A bit long winded, and a ton of (noticeable) recycled animation, but the ending is spectacular, especially with the Endless Waltz movie.

Full Metal Alchemist - Funny, depressing, dramatic, action packed, etc. I love this series and everything related to it. The characters are wonderful and the story is brilliantly twisted.

Gundam SEED/ SEED Destiny - Seed was great. Especially the last 10 to 15 episodes. Destiny was basically the same plot, but centered around a different character. The action scenes in Destiny are really what make it though.

Tsubasa Chronicle - I really liked this one. Never finished it (nor do I even know if it has been finished). But the characters were very, well, CLAMPy. Which makes sense as it is a CLAMP series.

Yakitate Japan!! - Hands down one of the funniest animes I've ever seen. What can beat a show about a kid who bakes bread? Nothing. Thats what.

Azumanga Daioh - Another one of the funniest animes out there. I absolutely adore this show. The characters are lovable and endearing. Plus its just really funny.

Samurai X (Trust and Betrayal) - The prequel to Rurouni Kenshin. Awesome animation and story. Though it is slow at times. Extremely slow. Its like a Michael Bay movie. Fast forward through the slow parts to the action scenes and you got one sweet movie.

Samurai X (Reflections) - The sequel OVA to Kenshin. Simply one of the saddest and most depressing things I've ever seen. Then again, I love Kenshin and all that and have really gotten attached to the characters. And its really not the most uplifting endings in the world. Hell, the entire thing is depressing. Don't watch this unless you are already in a crappy mood. It does have some awesome fight scenes though.

Dai-Guard - Awesome is all I can say. It's basically a parody of all the giant robot animes out there. A team of three goes out in their giant robot and saves the day, only to have to go back to the office to file damage reports and other paperwork associated with the mayhem they helped create. Along with the ridiculous weapons they get from the typical cute-nerdy science girl being criticized at every turn because they are completely outlandish, despite their usefulness. It's really very funny.

And thats pretty much all I can think of at the moment thats really worth watching. Sorry for the long list.

Technically its a filler that ends the anime,as the manga goes on to tell the story of Trust and Betrayal,as to help movie the Enishi arc and explain why hes after Kenshin. The Enishi arc really ended the story. To find out what happened, read the Kenshin manga volumes 19-28,28 being the final volume.

I also suggest people watch and or read Air Gear.Awesome show/manga by the creator of Tenjo Tenge.

And One Piece. Its not as bad as what 4kids made it to be.

who'd they pick for Light's voice? personally me and my bro (who have becomed uber hooked on the series) probably arent gonna like the english version of the series too much, but then we watch so many subbed anime thats all we can ever watch.

oh well to get back on topic theres a lot of animes that are good that ive been watching:

first theres Potemayo, which is funny even though ive only seen the first ep. then
heroic age is pretty cool.
Tengen Toppa Gurren Laggan is a pretty cool series so far.
Towards the Terra is interesting but i need to watch more
Bartender is a pretty interesting series too but ive only seen 1 ep >.>

actually theres a lot of animes im watching that are good but im not sure if i should mention them because ive barely watched the serieses. Well in any case a lot of the animes i would recommend have been posted so i guess theres no need to post them for a 3rd 4th or even 5th time.

oh and im not sure if anyone mentioned this but Fate/Stay Night is a really cool series, and its also one of my favs ^^

Mai-HiME
Air (Note: This anime is not for those who fancy action, violence, blood gore, et cetera. It is EXTREMELY laid back, philosophical, and emphasizes storyline.)
Tsubasa RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE (Note: Fairly typical CLAMP style, featuring a mash-up of CLAMP and xxxHOLiC characters.)

These three are of my anime favorites that come to mind when thinking of recommendations.

would like to add Fate Stay Night and maybe Lucky star and Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei...
Fate is good. It has a realy interesting plot and there is swords and magic, you would like it :P (??) just kidding.

"Emiya Shirou is a highschool boy who lives in Fuyuki City. His parents died in a fire when he was young, after that he was adopted by an old man who refer himself as a sorcerer, but he died too.
What Shirou doesn`t know, is that the underground of Fuyuki City is the place of a great war.
When the time is right, sorcerers from near and far gather with their Servants - the summoned spirits of heroes so mighty they exist outside of time - and fight a war for possession of the Holy Grail, a relic said to grant its owner a wish. The true names of the Servants reveal their weaknesses, and so they are usually referred to by a classification of type instead; Saber, Archer, Rider, Berserker, Lancer, Caster, and Assassin. "

Lucky star is funny, not particulary good... is not Azumanga though... but can be enjoyabla afther chapter 4, specialy if you see a lot of anime. parodies never end.

Zetsubou is cool... the name of the anime can be traduced as "so long, Mr despair" i think... and the anime follows this suicidal teacher and his highschool class... i think there is nothing normal about this one XD.

Kaze no Stigma
Anime News Network wrote:Based on a light novel series by Yamato Takahiro.

Ayano is the heir to the house of Kannagi, a house with ties to the spirit of fire whose members are all fire users. All except for her cousin, Kazuma. After he was defeated by Ayano, his father banish him from the house in disgrace. Kazuma runs off and changes his surname to Yagami. He forms a contract with the spirit of wind and becomes a powerful wind user. 4 years later, he returns. Some killings in the Kannagi house by a powerful wind user lead Ayano and the Kannagi house into thinking Kazuma is taking revenge. Although claiming to be innocent, Kazuma is preparing for an all out war with Kannagi.
The plot described above only lasts for about an episode or 2. The main thing that attracted me to this series is, bad*ss main character, tsundere heroine that wields a sword AND controls fire. The main character, Kazuma, is voiced by Daisuke Ono, starring in roles such as Sven Cal Bayan in Gundam Seed Stargazer and Itsuki Koizumi from Suzumiya Haruhi.

Ayano's character is comparable to Shana from Shakugan no Shana. Has red hair, can summon a sword, controls fire, and has a fiery temper.

Although the series is mostly comedy and a love triangle, there are episodes where characters get a lot of development and might probably leave you crying. It's currently on the 18th episode and it's already become one of my favourite anime.

Tsubasa is just CLAMP mashed together. It ties into xxxHolic thou.
And most of the characters can be found in every series CLAMP ever did.Except Kobato.

Eh, I guess you could say they're sort of similar in that they are both tsundere, but they are pretty different despite that. I like Shana a lot more than I like Ayano. Kaze no Stigma is pretty much the last anime Iast anime I can see myself crying over though, lol.

Extremely laid back? Define "laid back," lol. It's pretty dramatic and depressing at times. Good series though, no doubt. When I think of laid back, I think of stuff like Aria or Lamune.

well my comp recently had to undergo repairs that erased my list of good animes id seen and was watching but if i remember there was one rly good one i was watching just before the memory got erased.

Genshiken- A story of us, the anime and gaming fans. The anime follows a group who has formed a club in their school that is meant for the study of modern culture, in which they watch anime (i know eh?), play games (mostly GuiltyGear), read mangas, build models, and cosplay. You'll see several cameos of other series in this anime.

Its been a while since the memory got cleared so i dont remember much more but its funny and worth watching (im still watching it myself). Ill post more when i can find the backup memory of my list.
