The Second Coming..*slight spoiler*

Post by Twilight Haseo »

Just messing around earlier today, I decided to go to a new area just for the hell of it in volume 1, since I let my friend borrow volume 2, with the Party of Haseo, Silabus, and Kuhn. Anyway, the area words I created were Delta: Protected Black Holy Ground, a level 46 field (overcast/raining environment.) After obtaining the three symbol fragments and defeating most of the field's monsters, I went to the Beast Statue to claim my prize, which was nothing more than a "Train Watch" (sold it later on in Canard's guild for it's absurd price difference over simply selling it to the Kiosk). Point being, upon leaving the Beast Room in that area and heading for the Platform just outside to send me back to town, I noticed something familiar, but didn't expect it..the red arrow indicating that Doppleganger was nearby. Now, I wouldn't be posting this if this was my first encounter with him, however, I already defeated Doppleganger about a week ago (5 hours previously in the game's clock), and he was rather easily beaten, which was a dissapointment ( I used Beast Awakening with Pi, Kuhn, and Haseo; Haseo using Wrath Wings +5, Pi Using Earth Altair +5, Kuhn using Wing Hong +5), too easy of a defeat for the so called "toughest enemy in the game", never even had a chance to strike. ^__^ Anyway, I originally encountered and defeated Doppleganger at Delta: Protected Wrath's Berserker, ironically another level 46 field, though the skies were clear, just a night scene for the environment. I defeated all of the monsters, as advised by others on this forum, and waited exactly 10 minutes on the bottom-most island, to then leave and find him on the next island northwest roughly 12 minutes in total. That was when I heard that psychotic music and saw my screen acting up as well. Before that, they gave me that "run away, he's too strong" message, but me, being the risktaker, ran right for him, and as stated above, killed him with ease. I thought after getting the "Own King", he was gone for good, but obviously not. Now at the location I stated above, he reappeared right after leaving the Beast Room, though this time I was only in this level for fun, and was not even thinking of encountering him again in this volume. Additionally, I wasn't even in the level for more than 10 minutes before obtaining the prize. Not to mention there were three more groups of monsters out of nine total before the area was completely "clear". Anyway, the red arrow shows, the game tells me the same message though this time abbriviated, saying "You have encountered Doppleganger", and nothing more. Right about the point where you run towards an enemy head on and they see you (meaning the battle begins), he dissapears the same way any of us would "gate out" and return to town, and that was the last time I saw him up until this point. After he vanished, or "gated out", (even though he was no where near a platform), I finished the level by cleaning up the last three groups of monsters, and then had some mediocre fun by ramming the trees repeatedly with the steam bike to ram the chim chims, ending up finding 3 King Chim Chims, and alot of the other blue and yellows, totalling 224 for the level. Yea, I know this is a lot of writing, but I wanted to explain to everyone just exactly what happened before I was asked questions and then would have to post multiple answers. Let me know if something similar happened to any of you, thanks. ^__^

Wow o-o Interesting lack of paragraphs story.

XD I've never seen it happen, but the fact that Doppelganger warped out of the area is pretty intriguing.

Actually, he didn't warp out of the Area. Every so often he'll transfer location in the Field, using that animation.

I apologize for the misunderstood visual representation he gave me, I didn't stay to look around to find him again, but thank you for clearing that up for everyone, including myself. Much appreciated.

No problem. It's not your fault you saw that and misunderstood. :)

I've encounted Doppleganger without clearing the area's monster population and had he warp away, but for some reason, I never met him in Vol. 1. Is that strange?

Why would it be strange? It's not. Doppleganger appears whether or not you defeated him in previous volumes. The thing that is affected is the rewards.

I was just asking if the fact that I never met him in Vol. 1 was strange or not. I didn't mean the awards. Thanks anyways for answering another question I had though. :D

It takes 10 min in the Vol.1. In Vol.2 he appers instantly if you give in the area word the word moonlight.

I managed to beat him in volume 2 at level 51, though my methods could be considered "dishonorable". I never use outside cheats, such as Action Replay or Gameshark, however, I did exploit Sleipnir's "take half of the HP away from the enemy" ability, and of course, doing that to Dopple x5 (5 times because of the use of smokescreens to leave and suprise attack him again) really put the hurt on him ^__^

The weapons are badass though, i'm still using them at level 100 ~.^

I dont think thats too strange. The doppleganger can come about an unlimited number of times to my knowledge... Personally I only killed him once but I didnt touch the game after he was dead and I had his item >_>

I have a feeling in vol. 3, Xth form Dopple (if they decide to include him), will be a nice, challenging enemy ^_^
