New .hack game
How in the world can another .hack game possibly be made? The story line doesn't leave enough open for a whole new series, does it? Then again, we all thought that a new series was impossible after the original series, but we saw how that ended up...

Re: New .hack game
my opinion, it will be more advance and maybe the controller will be more like the .hack controller. and the world will be more future like and have something to do with comatose.zaffax wrote:How in the world can another .hack game possibly be made? Something occurred to me today while playing Reminisce.
In vol. 2 of GU, in one of the "news" sections on the desktop, they mention another MMORPG--a sci-fi one--called "Forbidden," which nearly rivals The World R:2 (it has about 8 million players, compared to The World's 12 million). They go into detail on the name of the company that created the game, as well as its chairman, the classes in the MMORPG, and some of the MMORPG's game features. They kind of foreshadow that the game will go on to try and compete with The World itself.
Do you think the next step in .hack might have something to do with this "Forbidden" game, by any chance? I know it's a completely different game from The World, but let's face it. So much weird and dangerous crap happens in The World that it's bound to get shut down sooner or later. That would potentially leave "Forbidden" to become the next big thing...
And ontop of that, the news captures in Reminisce also mention sensors that game companies will use in the future, which pick up on your "thoughts" and practically allow you to project yourself into the game. Since much of what happens in .hack (such as people falling into comas and even becoming trapped in the game) happens because The World is completely immersive and realistic, it's not unlikely that if another MMORPG comes out with even more realistic features, the .hack storyline (the idea of a digital reality influencing actual reality) can be stretched even further...
...But yeah, I'm probably reading into it too much, even though I thought that "Forbidden" news post was suspiciously detailed. >_>
I have about as much of a clue as to what the next .hack installment will be as any of you do. D:

Annwyn, I like your theory. But how would the comas start? The Harold Folder's the key, right? Maybe CC Corp and Forbidden's manufacturers joined? And I don't think fans would want to play a .hack game that didn't have to do with "The World", so would they call the new game, if they were merged, "The World"?

well maybe like in vol. 2 where yata said that aidas current intrest lies in people if the world R:2 shut down it would go to the next largest group of people and since forbidden nearly rivals it with 8 million it would move there and then they have to fight the aida =)Shin Amakiir wrote:Annwyn, I like your theory. regardless of what it is about I hope it comes out on PS2 not just PS3. I dont have the cash to buy a PS3. The idea that it may be a real online game is what im actually hoping for, because that in itself would be the ultimate .Hack game. you can add to it and it can expand over time. That would be a good idea for the next game
Even better: on the PC. I can't afford the extra PS2 online stuff. That and in The World, you play on your computer, with a headset and a controller plugged in.TIB4M4N wrote:regardless of what it is about I hope it comes out on PS2 not just PS3. There are many ideas to do a .hack game.
There are portable consoles like psp: you can play wireless with it.
PS2: It's all right. But right now there are more on time technology consoles that can open new ideas for .hack.
PS3: It's cool, but is $$$$$$. People will have to wait to buy it. I'm not going to buy it 'til the price is a little bit more pocket size.
Xbox: Well, people like it. It's more affordable than the ps3. but no hard drive........ (that doesn't make it). Ohh, yeah... now it have hdd: just $180 more...
Nintendo launched the wii. What do you think of playing .hack by moving you hands. It can be more interesting... what do you think about it?

they will have to run out of ideas sometime but lets enjoy the ones we have now IMOQ were good and so are the first 2 volumes of G.U. and the 3rd volume will probly be kick ass so i hope they make a couple more but not so many that the gameplay and storyline lose their qualityDaichi wrote:It will eventualy end up to be 120% milking....The .hack newbie wrote:omg did you just utter the even IDEA the 8 games of dothack is ENOUGH?!!!!?!?!?!??!? i am shocked! there can never be enough dothack games theyre just too goodDaichi wrote:come on. we have 8 gams already....

Plus 8 games!!! Well it is really 7 We already know we are not getting fragment Also you could count IMOQ as one game if you felt like it. They could of put all 4 games onto 2 maybe 3 dvd's (we might of had to lose the jap dub to save space though) but still we haven't had enough. Also no space for another storyline!! IMOQ to GU ( A seven year lapse) they have plenty of time for any storyline they could think of.
Okay wooo my rant is over.
