Post Game: Forest of Pain

Post by zaffax »

I was just wondering if the field is really as hard as IGN claims it to be.

BTW: When IGN states that there are three different endings, does it mean that depending on how you play the final battle will reflect the ending?

I thin kthe diffrent ending thing was a mistaje. I dont think its real, but just a misunderstanding. Forest of pain is supost to be REALLY hard even at max level.

It's either a misunderstanding, or they're saying there's three scenes in the storyline that can be called the ending, just like Quarantine had both Aura's Birth and Mia's Ressurection deserving of the "Ending" spot.

In a way even Reminisce had two endings, because it had one set of credits, then had some more story and then had another set of credits. I thought it was strange they did it like that =/

Isn't Mia's Ressurection supposed to be an Epilogue?

That was just to mess with us. It's like "Ok the games over...... wait whats going on....ZOMG OVAN'S STILL ALIVE!," now it's over.

So is the FoP kinda like Mia's resurrection? In the sense that we're dealing with an "impossibly" hard dungon? And if so, what are some of the things that make it worse that other dungons (other than it being longer)

"Longer" is an understatement even though it's super easy to navigate through. It's not like we have a data bug in every room like in Quarantine, but the monsters are still pretty buff. They have status effect shields (much like the players in the arena), loads of hp and just really high stats in general. Dual guns are highly reccomended as are Smoke Screens. You're going to want to fight to level up, but the Smoke Screens are real helpful in the last 50-floors b/c you can't restock on items without restarting at level 50.

Or if a accessory similar to Vol. 2's bike part that has a permanent smoke screen effect exists equip that.

Then you will be able to ONLY fight the forest of pain Boss's since with the permanent smoke screen effect accessory the only way to start a non boss battle is if you chose to start it via a surprise attack for example.

Won't that be boring? Take away the battles and it's just a big trek. At least with battles there's some difficulty and tension.

Well Like the Abyss in Wild Arms 3/Alter Code F I'd rather just skip all the non boss monsters and just fight the boss's.

But unlike the 2 wild arms games even the normal encounters can be a constant drain on haseos inventory for HP SP and revive items.

Since I'd rather not lose all my healing and reviving items just for a normal encounter it would be best just to kill the boss's.

Yes the boss's do not revive when killed if you ever leave the forest of pain at any time.

Why do you assume it'll be so difficult that you'd have to use all your items to survive the random battles? I can see why you'd wanna save time like that, but battles were never that hard in the last 2 games, so why would they be now?

Unless they severely pump'd up the difficulty for the FoP, which would be awesome.

Either way, considering how late you get the Xth Form, the Forest of Pain seems like the perfect place to really experience and enjoy it.

The average FOP monster will have 4000+ HP and boosted physical and magical defense. While having tons of physical and magical attack power as well.
