For some reason, I already had a feeling that Misaki Ryo was also the user behind Sora. Why? Because I checked Haseo's age and did the math from there. And the interesting part was, this was when there was barely any evidence, except the age. I mean, right after Ryo woke up from the coma, wasn't it obvious that his parents wouldn't let him play that game ever again and even lie to him about the incident? Sora in UNISON is definitely an AI, since I could actually imagine with enough old data, it was possible to make an AI like the actual Sora. And not only that, but if you were Mr. and Mrs. Misaki, would you let your child play the same game that got him into a coma?

Either way, I'm pretty happy to find out Haseo and Sora are the same person. :)

Ai Sora is really Skeith not, but maybe

She means the Sora in Unison. The Skeith controlled AI was in Zero and Liminality.

Im also talking about the one in unison, because Ryo didnt have memories in the time of unison and when the white version of haseo(skeith) speaks to him he talks like sora so maybe soras memories now live on inside skeith

That's the reason why Unison might not be noncanon. Chances are, they intended that Sora to be the real Sora.

Actually a few things make more sense this way. For one thing, how did Ovan know about Haseo being special immediately after he logged in, especially since he showed none of the characteristics that Skeith would be attracted to? The only way that could be is if Ovan already knew beforehand that Haseo had the potential to attract Skeith. I have this suspicion that Ovan, or even Yata, might be behind his return to the game. Sora's player was listed in CC Corp files as the best candidate for Skeith. If one of them got a hold of that information, it's not unbelivable that one of them could have manipulated him in real life too.

BTW, I heard somewhere that Ovan was behind IYOTEN and Asta's PKing Haseo. If that's true, it adds a lot of weight to that theory.

No one was responsible for Haseo getting back into the game. The Perfect Guidebook says he just saw it and decided to get it due to a deja vu feel.

So the friend thing was just him trying to get Ender off his back?

Didn't he say he was told about it by a friend a long time back? That's probably what got him to play in the first place, or something...

I figured from the beginning that the friend thing was a lie. You yourself said that he consistently avoids the issue of how he got involved in it, Kuukai.

He does. Though it could also be true, since he actually said it happened a long time ago, which is a weird reason to be playing a game.

I was against it at first, but after seeing some discussion on the previous topic, I kinda came up with a satisfying explanation of how Haseo could be Sora. So, I'm ok with this now.

That memory loss thing, doesn't seem to make sense at all when explained with data drained as the cause of it, I mean so many other got data drained too, and none of them got memory loss, right?

In Outbreak, Kite found Skieth wand and destroy it (I think). Sora appeared to thank him and then disappeared. What if it didn't mean he was released back to The World, what if it meant he was dead or erase from The World or something. His real life player then woke up, because whatever linked him to The World (being Sora) was gone. It could explain why he forgot he ever played the game. His other real life memory may not even be effected, he forgot only the part when he played the game as Sora.

I kinda wanna think of Haseo as the reborned Sora. The name of volume 1 "Rebirth" seems to fit this well :) Both Sora and Haseo personality don't have to be the same, they simply shared the same soul (Ryou Masaki).

This is all just speculation though, don't take it too seriously.

that works for me. On the outside Rebirth might seem like it is referring to the rebirth of The World, and it is however only in part. Rebirth could also emphasis Haseo's rebirth as Skeith the Terror of Death. Not only that, but since they are the same, Sora has grown up into Haseo. From a child to an adolescent. As we have seen, no matter your demographic, everyone has problems.

By the way. Silver Knight had temporary memory loss (amnesia) after being data drained by Tsukasa's guardian. i'm suspecting that Bandai Namco left that little detail for when they could blow it up and turn it into a prop for Haseo's background(i'm referring to the memory loss).

Yeah, it's lost in the English version, but in the Japanese version it's a kinda playful "mi-tsu-ke-ta", which in hindsight is a pretty Sora-ish thing to say...

.hack//BICTIOUS wrote:.hack//Wiki is a very reliable source of information, when it's not vandalized. The information came from the .hack//G.U. Perfect Guidebook. Sora's name was listed as Misaki Ryou (Haseo's name) and the timeline mentioned that Ryou played The World R:1 and was placed into a 6+ month coma when Data Drained.
I don't trust wiki anymore, but I guess if the quote is directly taken fron the book, nothing can be done.

Wait, didn't Ryou decided to try the game since a friend told him about?
I remember this from roots..did they changed this part for make sense in their weird twist for the plot?

Actually my idea was the same, I hated it, why use Sora again?
I never liked him, but if there are that many proofs about, geez, I can just blame the authors.

Still, I remember a quote about Sora telling he was not gonna play "The World" anymore since now everyone have been able to PK, I don't really know from where this is coming but I just remember it.

Just as I told before, for what I know the owner of Haseo decided to play under a suggestion of a friend, should this friend have his same age?

Maybe the "friend" was the previous Sora owner, and decided to handle his account to the owner of Haseo, and that could explain why the name of the Haseo owner still is the same of Sora's.
But heck that sounds like a lame excuse.

I know this is weird since they both got data drained, and there is this thing about Sora loosing his memory, but still, I can't buy it.

Oh well, just wasted time typing, but I had to do it. :P

I agree. Maybe sora(Ryo whatever) just may have gotten bord. I mean wouldn't you too? I mean come on. he helped the bad guy(girl) he got to use one of the most kick rear phases in the game, and he got to be remebered as one of the best pkers in 'The World'. What more could you ask for? I mean seriously, what else could their have been left for him to do in the game?

That sounds like a fanfic. I don't remember anything like that.

No. Misaki Ryou is listed as Sora's player as well as Haseo's.

Guys, it's simple.

Haseo = Sora

Trying to think of lame theories to get around this is lying to yourselves.

Well, I know one theory that could fight it still, but noone would believe it.

You know how sometimes magazines, guides, etc....add the same thing twice? Like when EGM or OPM have the same picture for 2 different games or have the same title for the game with different pics but different reviews. It's all too common for this mistake especially when they rush it. It's just like FFXII, the rare marks and elite marks appear in the wrong place many times in the game's list and the strategy guide. I still haven't beeen able to fight the last mark because no accruate discription has benn given as to how to make it appear. It happens! In this case it might have happened, but noone would try to fight it.

It makes sense to me. Sora can't remember anything because he had amnesia. And I don't think it's lame, considering that Silver Knight had some amnesia after being DD'd, and that was only after such a small time in a coma. If Sora was unconcious for six whole months, then he'd most likely not remember anything, maybe not even getting anything back from the time before the coma. It's not that far of a stretch.

From there it's logical that Mr. and Mrs. Masaki hid the truth from Ryo. Would you want your kid playing the game that caused his coma? But in the end, after a while he found R:2, and started playing it because he was bored and needed something to do. Regardless of wether he remembered or not, or wether or not he began R:2 by coincidence, he made the character Haseo.

He has a different personality because of everything that happened to him on his first day of R:2. Chances are that he might have ended up like his old self if he'd never been PK'd and met Ovan.

Personally, I'm in favor of this theory and the Sora=Haseo thing in general. (Sorry for the essay post, but I'm sick and bored at the moment.)

Wow it looks like this was the surprise people want to hang the developers over and not the Ovan revelation like they themselves thought. I still don't see what the big deal is about it though. It doesn't affect anything.
