I agree with that, but I'm saying majority of the people enjoy GU because of it's story. And the first four .hack games, the gameplay wasn't that good, but people liked the story and continued to buy the next volumes to see what happens next.Musashi Kojira wrote:I wouldn't say "main" point. I would say "strongest" point. It's a videogame so gameplay, graphics, and story all have thier share of importance.carnage157 wrote:lol exactly if you don't like easy games then don't play GU. However, again GU's only main point is the storylineMusashi Kojira wrote:Then stop playing .hack//G.U.omen wrote:easy games are useless....
For me, gameplay is the most important element in every game. RPGs are no exception (even though most people believe they are). While the gameplay of G.U. is easy, it's still enjoyable, which is why I play it. It's just not on my top 10 favorite game list.
Way Of Playing
I'm a little bit in-between. When i heard they recommended lvl 20 for the arena (though i didn't expect there to be more quests before you actually got there ;P), i decided to level up to 30 because i wanted to pull off an Endrance (which they never let me do T_T).
So basically, i was overleveled for a while, untill i got to the fights around lvl 39, where the game caught up to me. Then i stayed at the level i suppose the devs expected you to be.
Didn't really disrupt my experience. Rather made it more fun since i got to kick ass in the arena, but not too much^^

So I guess you're one of the few people who actually think the game deserves a 10 out of 10.Haseo-Chan wrote:well dot hack is indeed very easy..so theres nothing to brag about even if u finish the entire game...wat i like about dot hack is that its the only rpg game which has the online concept...and of coz the amazing story line as well..to me it beats all other top rpg games

That was the main and only system in old RPGs...there wasnt any action other than selecting your own commands during periods measured in a time bar.Erranty wrote: not just pick the word and hit X. (stupid FF7)
But it isnt just 'picking the word and hitting X'...more advanced in the game, you'll see that you really need to think which 'word' you have to choose, and doing it fast. That's called strategy (although i doubt you'll need that in FF7 much

Saying that RPGs are just 'picking the word' its like saying GU is only of 'smashing a button'

Why don't we just say all RPG's, hell all games are boring an repetitive if we are going to nitpick every detail no matter how obvious they may or may not be?TheSorrow wrote:That was the main and only system in old RPGs...there wasnt any action other than selecting your own commands during periods measured in a time bar.Erranty wrote: not just pick the word and hit X. All games are boring until you find out how to use the 'repetitive' stuff in different ways or with a different point of view, actually.Gemcrim wrote:Why don't we just say all RPG's, hell all games are boring an repetitive if we are going to nitpick every detail no matter how obvious they may or may not be?TheSorrow wrote:That was the main and only system in old RPGs...there wasnt any action other than selecting your own commands during periods measured in a time bar.Erranty wrote: not just pick the word and hit X.
