Funny thing is, that you'll never need to fight against a Flicker, Partizan. (Well unless you count Piroshi the 3rd being charmed and attacking you.)

I was just reading from another group and I got the impression that the japanese games have english subtitles. Is this true?

no....they have japanese subtitles. the english one will have english subtitles. its all to do with localization, though they did have a mid-transition vide where the subs were english, bad english, and the voices were in japanese.
