The OST has been given a release date of August 23rd. From what CDJapan say it's only the music from Rebirth.

Is that the U.S. release date? Sorry if that's a stupid question. I know music will sometimes(with imports) come out before the game.Japanese release. Price on CDJapan is 3200yen, but it could differ at other places. CDJapan is just where I use for import CD's. I have no idea if Gentle Hands will be on it since I haven't seen a track listing, but I really hope it's on it. I can't think why it wouldn't be though. If it is, then it will most likely be the Japanese version. I don't see the English version being on the Japanese OST. I only found it by chance by doing a .hack search on Play Asia and finding it on page 3. I confirmed by instantly checking with CDJapan and have already pre-ordered.

They seem to agree with it being from just Vol 1 though (here and really, it makes sense considering it's only 1 CD of music (plus the dramas) and comes out before Vol 2 and 3. Looking through the game's music files, it'll be a tight enough fit getting the music from Vol 1 on there, and they're bound to add other stuff in the other two games...

It's got to be Rebirth only.
I was bored enough to count all unique songs from Vol. 1
The three games together will have 90 tracks. Why? Because there are 90 track-names, but some are just placeholders (e.g. the song of the 3rd/4th town or the other Phases' themes).
In this game, there are 59+6+1 tracks (the 6 are too short to be actual tracks on a CD and the 1 is Gentle Hands). I've never even heard some of them but whatever.
I wonder which ones will be left out.

Whole thing? Well... the last games did have a total of like 63 if you got the Import version, the domestic cut it to 30-ish for some reason.
What is the "Drama sounds" CD though... might it be some sound effects CD like the last game OST, well the one that came with the limited edition which was great for making .hack desktop themes and sounds on my computer.
