No she wasn't. She kept Tsukasa on a emotional rollercoaster. When he got high, she made him crash. When he was in the dumps, she cheered him up. She was trying to keep Aura from awakening at all. Either version of Aura, light or dark, is still an awakened Aura, which is what Morganna doesn't want.

But eventually, Morganna says that she doesn't need Tsukasa anymore, was this because she was going to lock Tsukasa in that area so he couldn't learn that he needed to awaken Aura?

She basically fried the hell out of Tsukasa's head, leaving him so shellshocked he couldn't even think or respond. Until he woke back up, Tsukasa was basically braindead, and as we can see, that started deteriorating Aura, but not by much. Keep Aura permanently damaged is a good way to keep her from waking up, you think?
