Talk of Subaru's vagina is a bit too explicit. Keep down the nastiness, please.

Re: Tsukasa and Subaru's relationship.
In Zero, there's a chapter about tsukasa, or An Shouji and subaru, Mariko Misono after the events of unison.
An is adopted by Bear (real name?) and takes his advice in going to a boarding school. She describes the two dates that the she's been on with Mariko.
No debating, they are lovers. I own the book. Also, the wikipedia article was written correctly. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.hack//Zer ... iko_Misono

As far as gender is concerned... it isn't. They bonded fully when each thought the other was the opposite sex, and that bond was a strong one. As such it didn't simply change when they logged out.
I don't think their sexuality has anything to do with it. Personally is they were to break up I would expect they'd probably be straight for that matter.
I see it as "straight but with an exception". That is the impression I got from SIGN. Then again... I also saw a lot of strong feelings from Mimiru too... Whether that was really implied or I just don't like Subaru.... I can't be certain.

You're assuming this because?Satoh wrote:Personally is they were to break up I would expect they'd probably be straight for that matter.

Re: Tsukasa and Subaru's relationship.
They fell for each other in the first place? It's not really a huge jump in reasoning, though obviously it isn't for certain...
Re: Tsukasa and Subaru's relationship.
Is that a problem or something?Satoh wrote:That is the impression I got from SIGN.

Re: Tsukasa and Subaru's relationship.
It's not like we ever get to see the two crush on anyone else for comparison, and anime has no pretense of "straight" being the default sexual orientation, so it's just a bit on the pigheaded side to treat it as such. Tsukasa and Subaru are functionally lesbians, since neither of them are going to be with anyone else as far as the narrative is concerned. They're each other's first and only loves.
Re: Tsukasa and Subaru's relationship.
You're the one oversimplifying it. Obviously what they thought when they were actually falling in love counts for something. It's complicated, and saying they're just one thing or another is dumb.

Re: Tsukasa and Subaru's relationship.
I know that, and clearly, the body doesn't really come into it (debating otherwise would be missing the whole point of the relationship), but since they never really display any other sort of romantic interest one way or another, and probably are never going to, they're functionally (keyword thar) lesbians, and debating otherwise on whether they really are, or just "straight with an exception" or whatever is moot and pointless.
Re: Tsukasa and Subaru's relationship.
And you're basing that on even more assumptions and arbitrary definitions.
Re: Tsukasa and Subaru's relationship.
It's fiction, of course it's a moot point.AuraTwilight wrote:I know that, and clearly, the body doesn't really come into it (debating otherwise would be missing the whole point of the relationship), but since they never really display any other sort of romantic interest one way or another, and probably are never going to, they're functionally (keyword thar) lesbians, and debating otherwise on whether they really are, or just "straight with an exception" or whatever is moot and pointless.

Re: Tsukasa and Subaru's relationship.
I believe in the anime, Tsukasa was saying something to Subaru about how he was really a girl, and he was concerned that Subaru didn't still want to see him. But then Subaru said it was Tsukasa's soul that she liked, not his gender... or something like that. So really, it doesn't matter if they're lesbians or not. They're simply not bothered by each other's gender. >_<
Re: Tsukasa and Subaru's relationship.
Love has no boundaries.
It's for the inviduals to decide how they are in their relationship.

Isn't that really the point behind SIGN... the ability to choose one's own way?VKV wrote:Love has no boundaries.

still... poor Mimiru...
EDIT: crap..I didn't realize how old that post was...

TOO LATE! Now it's necro'd and everyone's going to have to post on it again.Satoh wrote:Isn't that really the point behind SIGN... the ability to choose one's own way?VKV wrote:Love has no boundaries.

Re: Tsukasa and Subaru's relationship.
Too late indeed, haha.
Anyways, I can confirm that if love is strong though, it transceneds gender, despite your sexual orientation. One of my exes wanted a sex change and once I got over the "whookay... WTF???" I found myself realizing... I was convinced my feelings were deep, and not at all rooted in her physical appearance. So why would that affect anything if my feelings were true? However, she never did get the sex change and we broke up so it was a moot point anyways, but still. It's not a long shot to say "It's possible for them to both be straight bot to share a bond that transcends gender"
