I use mostly BlackRose, Wiseman, and Kite.
But I'd add on Mia, Balmung, Elk, and Sanjuro if I could.

Elk's the bomb. I often try to fit him in if I can. And BlackRose and Balmung are my main tanks. Of course, I always have Kite in my party. You gotta have Kite!

Well I can't remember about Mistral, but in the case of Elk and Mia, you aren't supposed to be able to use them. Their ongoing story together makes them unplayable throughout the entirety of Outbreak and most of Quarantine. They are important to the plot, however, which is probably why you see them on the cover. I'm hoping they go deeper into what exactly is occupying their time in Another Birth.

Mistral is unavailable throughout Outbreak, she returns halfway through Quarantine. I think Mia is unavailable from Outbreak and on, and you use Elk during one mission only or something.

You get Mai back after doing the secret mission at the end of Quarantine. Mistral comes back after you fight the phase Macha the Temptress or what ever her name is. I remember also that your supposed to bring Elk on the secret mission at the end of Quarantine aswell.

Anyways!
My part of course has Kite in it and the other two are from how i feel at the time. I don't like using wavemasters alot becuase they can't get the physical hits in even though they are more powerful magic ways. So my typical party would consist of: Kite, Blackrose, & Balmung. It changes if there is a certain person needed for a mission though such as the Moonstone missions.

I was using Kite, BlackRose and Elk up until outbreak, but now Elk is unplayable. That makes me so sad...I love Elk.

Now I'm using Kite, Balmung and Wiseman. I hated Wiseman at first, but I guess he kind of grew on me.

I've never touched some of the characters unless I absolutely had to. Piros, Rachel, Gardenia, Nuke Usagimaru...I really don't like them.

One thing I am curious about is if you're able to use Orca at any point, besides the first board of Infection.

after you beat the main story you have him available just before going after the new bracelet oh i geuss some of you aren't done with the games yet sorry if i spoiled something for you.

My party is: Kite,Elk,Orca

I use Elk for far ranged spells and healing and I use Orca and kite to attack the monster directly.

Half-way through Outbreak, my party generally consists of:

Kite, Wiseman, and whoever I feel like at the time

Only because Mistral's gone at the moment. :\

If she was still usable, she'd be in my party 24/7.
