The thing you have to do in order to get Protect Break on it is use magic. Not just your Wavemasters either, you should have Kite casting magic as well. It's an annoying fight, but if you want the Golden Yasha, it's what ya gotta do. :V

Dek Vorma is required AFAIK. Since it has a bad hit rate on Black Death, however, I'd suggest you get your allies to cast it (yes, both of them) while Kite distracts BD. Kite trumps everyone at everything until endgame Quarantine anyway, so with regeneration and healing items, he should be able to take it.

Oh yeah, forgot about needing to break their magical protection. XP So yes, you'll need to bring items to do that, then use magic on 'em to Protect Break. Physical attacks alone won't do the trick.
