Naw, it's not that bad. Even without hacking, since then you could just make a program to do it, there are many cases where you can just c/p, like how every PC unique to Dol Dona in Reminisce has exactly the same item listing.

And they don't change according to where you are in the game. Guild Shops do that. Oddly enough, they ALL do that no matter the volume, so the only times you can buy a Spin Needle from Kestrel's Mac Anu shop for example are at the ends of each game/when you reach 40/90/140 (I forget which; memory is starting to rust).

But yeah, a programmer could get the job done without obscene amounts of time. The trade lists SHOULD be in the RAM, since the entire treasure system layout is in RAM at all times.

I've read that the Demon Safe Shoes are nearly necessary for Forest of Pain. Is it truly worth the annoying task of another 4 rounds of Goblin Tag?

Only if you consider that having an item that lets you avoid enemies completely with an added extra speed to Haseo is worth the task.

All that the Demon Safe Shoes do is allow you to become "invisible" to enemies, so you won't fight them even if they see you, and with an extra Speed +25% or something. It's not that hard to replace though...there's an item for accessories that gives you the same "invisible" effect (Cat Whiskers, i think), and you can put that to any accessory, but only that item since it's 3-slotted. As of the speed, Ap Do/Lapu Do or the item that does the same effect could replace it by adding you extra speed as well....sure, you'll be even after if you have the Speed +25% from the accessory AND Ap Do, but a single speed boost is good enough anyhow, especially if you really don't feel like doing the Goblin Tag (which is not that bad either...in fact i find it fun D: )

But anyways, the Demon Safe Shoes aren't necessary at all for Forest of Pain, unless you wanna just avoid enemies and go to the end quickly, and even so, it can be replaced. And it's completely useless if what you want to do is fight against most enemies and complete the Phase Bonuses in FoP to get unique items. Keep in mind that most people who say that the shoes are "nearly necessary" are also the people who say that Forest of Pain is "so darn long and hard and OMFG it's insane and a pain indeed!!!"....while it's not a big thing really, just a long, repetitive dungeon with enemies a bit tougher than usual.

I know there's a similar accessory to the Demon Safe Shoes you can get by doing the Bike Missions but I never did them in Vol 2 and therefore, don't know if I can do them in Vol 3. But my bike sucks and therefore, I suck at Goblin Tag (I was half decent at it in the originals, but doing it on a bike is ;w; worthy). But I'm glad to hear they aren't necessary, especially after the guide I read online went on and on about "srsly demon safe shoes are the only way you're going to beat FoP" and I was like "............. what". But I figure it shouldn't be too hard with Haseo, Atoli, and Zelkova at level 150 with maxed Lost Weapons.

You can't get that accessory anymore D: But don't be disappointed at all, it's similar but only in the Speed boost, and only useful in Vol. 2. What makes Demon Safe Shoes "awesome" is the hiding-from-enemies ability, which the accessory in Vol. 2 didn't have (i think it was called Biker's Charm). So even if you had gotten it, it wouldn't be useful in FoP, whether your idea was to fight enemies or run.

But I'm glad to hear they aren't necessary, especially after the guide I read online went on and on about "srsly demon safe shoes are the only way you're going to beat FoP" and I was like "............. what". lol, What a failure of a guide :P I just hope it wasn't Zer0's guide...and i'm definetly sure it can't be a guide from Master ZED, no way XD

At Level 150, FoP won't be difficult until like Floor 70 or so, and even so, it'll just be a small change of pace and as long as you know how to play the game properly, you won't have any trouble. Though i see you still trust in the Lost Weapons...and you see, they aren't exactly good weapons for everyone...for Atoli, it works, but for Haseo, there's FAR BETTER weapons you could use, same for people like Endrance and Pi >~>' If you want, you can keep the Lost Weapons and go through FoP, and you'll still beat it easily, but if you really want the strongest equipment, and not just the crappy equipment that the game and crappy guides follow you to use because they're "LIEK OMG THE RAREST WEEPUNZ!!!", here are some tips:

-The highest-level weapons Haseo can get (Spin Nezumi, Broad Dowan, Scythe Dakini), alchemized to +5 using your Guild's abilities, are WAY stronger than any Lost or Rarity 5 weapon, even Silad though Silad is still good. Also, you can use certain customizable items to make them even more powerful....shouldn't be hard for you to find items that add All Damage +25% or Critical +50%, and as you go through Forest of Pain, you'll learn to love the "Nil" items you'll find there.
-For armor, the highest-level armor customized to +5 with World Mirror (avoids all status changes, like Poison) and Indulgence (turns damage into GP) are the best choices....the latter as long as you have GP of course. But with Zelkova, it's not a problem...he'll be freaking immortal.
-For accessories, look for the Skill Candle, which gives the ability of Skill Boost. Together with the strongest weapons, it makes your attacks the strongest they can be.

And also, know that skills such like Chaotic Strike, Shell Breaker and Heavenly Wheel are the strongest skills in the same, superior to the Lv3 Arts such like Armor Break and Reaper's Dance (though Reaper's Dance spiffy animation can't be beaten)...in fact, Heavenly Wheel is the strongest skill Haseo has, as it inflicts the most damage in just a few seconds. And Beast Awakening is the strongest awakening too, not Avatar Awakening....while Avatar Awakening does like 2000-3000 damage at best, you can do almost the same damage with just Heavenly Wheel, and there's also the rest of your team attacking, and you using other attacks...you can inflict over 8000 damage in one Beast Awakening, provided the enemy survives enough XD

I'd like to make a small correction to TheSorrow's post - Broad White and Spin Drake are the highest-level broadsword/dual sword in Volume 3. Of course, they're Rapid Attack, so you might be less inclined to use them <_<

It was a guide made by JonFireBlade or something like that. But wow, thanks a lot. This really helped. Now if only I'd been doing alchemy since it first became available, I wouldn't be so lost as to how to get those items. XD;

You could also use the Gurah Fist, which gives 100% critical and is awesome with Dual Swords.

You can turn Haseo (or anyone who can use Heavy Armor) immortal with Other Self and Shadow too :P

You came all this way without using alchemy? Your fan of rare weapons, right?

About the items TheSorrow mentioned:
- Spin Nezumi is dropped by Riverdyle (which is found at Sigma: Essential Aster's Bum).
- Broad Dowan and Scythe Dakini are sold at the Netslum.
- Rough Monarch is dropped by Judgement (Lv145-147 areas' boss).
- Simple Super Belt can be found on chests at some Lv150 areas (and on the FoP), I think.
- IIRC, Ginseng (All Damage +25%) can be traded with Mille (and I think it's the reward in one of the bike missions) and Sabertooth Tooth (Critical +50%) can be bought at Breg Epona's magic shop.
- World Mirror is gotten by defeating one of the Chaotic PKers (don't remember who) and Indulgence is gotten in one of the bike missions, IIRC.
- Skill Candle can be bought at Breg Epona.

Because no one seemed to notice the first time...

It's not really that hard to find the equipment items, most of them you can just buy in Netslum or trade for.

It doesn't look like there's been a lot of activity in these boards, but what about this guide/FAQ? There's missing information and a lot of "unconfirmed" information that I'd have thought would have been confirmed a long time ago. Is that still active? I've got quite a few things in some notes I made between the dothackers guide on Gamefaqs and my own (latest) run through. I'd like the information to be put to use, but if nobody's going to touch that guide then should I even post my updates/notes here?

You could add your notes and information here, they would be a great help and give lots of answers for many things that have been asked before (most likely things that other people know already...but that they couldn't find here. And this topic was meant to solve such questions >~>'').

If you mean you would like the information added to the actual dothackers GameFaqs Guide/FAQ, then well, given how it's Zer0's guide and he's the one who can make changes and upgrades on the guide, then your best option would be to contact Zer0 directly, maybe by e-mail, and tell him you'd like such information added to the guide, with a good format and places where to add it already so you make the work easier for him too. At least, that would be the fastest way to update the information, because who knows when Zer0 would get online again...and then who knows if he'll even check this topic when he does D:

Thanks, I guess I'll start here. I can understand if Zer0 isn't around much anymore - the boards have definitely slowed down and I definitely haven't been on much since Valkyria Chronicles.

Weapons:
Spin Drake - Guide lists sources as "trading with Ubadama (Mac Anu)", but I found Pilgrim (Lumina Cloth) tends to either show up more often or has more when he does appear.
Broad Otome "weapon shop in Breg Epona", but I found lots of them for free in chests at (Sigma) Unseen Alien Elf Animal.
Broad White - "trade with Sagittarius (Mac Anu, Lumina Cloth, Dol Dona, Kestrel)", but I found these people more often: Kazuki (Lumina Cloth), Katar (Lumina Cloth)
Gun Garma - "trade with Sidewinder (Mac Anu) or IGA (Mac Anu, Lumina Cloth, Dol Dona, Breg Epona)". They didn't show up very much (at least with the guns), but I found IOTA (Breg Epona), Madame Insane (Lumina Cloth)
Blade Jijo - "trade with Nogmung (Mac Anu, Lumina Cloth, Dol Dona, Breg Epona)". I traded with Pale (Mac Anu), Fang (Lumina Cloth), Hiira (Lumina Cloth), Grasshoppa (Tartarga). Chests/PK battles at (Sigma) Cheering Engaging Belladonna also tended to yield easy Blade Jijos.
Fist Thrush - "buy from knights guild (Dol Dona)". Relying on a single guild shop doesn't suit me, but I found it at Zoo guild shop (Dol Dona, in my case as a Fist Thrush +3)
Fist Claw - "knights guild shop (Breg Epona)". I found them easily from chests at (Sigma) Calm Betrayal's Longing
Magic Cloud - "trade with Naoo". She shows up often enough given her range of Root Towns, but she didn't tend to have the grimoires for me. I traded with ClooFooFoo (Tartarga, it had several every time I found him and he showed up frequently), Pokuri (Lumina Cloth, Breg Epona)

Armours:
Sub Shawl - "knights guild shop (Breg Epona)". I traded with Tanu (Breg Epona)
Sub Comet - "dropped by Lava Dodo". I found it easier to trade with Barson (Mac Anu, Dol Dona), dr. D (Mac Anu)
Loose Battle - "dropped by Raid Liger". They never seemed to drop when I wanted them, but I found several in chests at (Sigma) Essential Vane Two Wings
Loose Holy - "dropped by Chaos Empress". I'm still trying to find more of these, but they can be gained by trading with Oimatsu (Mac Anu, Lumina Cloth), Joanna (Lumina Cloth)
Rough Monarch - "trade with TomCat (Breg Epona)". TomCat's actually a pretty reliable source, but it's always nice to have alternatives (especially with all the random inventory in this game): trade with Chobi (Lumina Cloth), DOMINATOR (Lumina Cloth), Lieutenant Okada (Lumina Cloth)

Accessories:
Simple Man Gloves - "trade with Ookami Itto (Mac Anu)". I traded with Inui (Mac Anu)
Simple Fate Book - "trade with Dragonfly (Lumina Cloth, Breg Epona, Kestrel)". I traded with Yatsuhusa (Breg Epona) for Regain Fate Book
Guide to Divinity - the item following "Simple Fate Book", gained by defeating the floor 100 boss in the Forest of Pain. I haven't reconfirmed this yet (new play-through), but I'm reasonably sure

Items:
Elven Rain - "trade with Kaki Leader (Dol Dona, Breg Epona)". I traded with Suzuki Pig (Lumina Cloth), meruru (Breg Epona)
Special Tea - "trade with Aryosha (Mac Anu)". I traded with Julias (Breg Epona), NiangNiang (Lumina Cloth)
Wonder Potion - "trade with Blue Eye Samurai (Mac Anu, Lumina Cloth) Sky (Mac Anu) Yoko (Lumina Cloth, Kestrel)". Since I never found them with the tea, I traded with Governor Tadashi (Breg Epona), Heavenly Flower (Mac Anu)
Ginseng - "trade with Kunio (Mac Anu), Mile (Mac Anu)". I traded with clover (Dol Dona)
Lodestone - "dropped by Boss at (Sigma) Elegant Aster's Berserker", I went there and never got it, but I found some by drops from the Wisdom Owl at (Sigma) Buzzing Aster's Phoenix
Shogun's Fan - "trade with Wise Dragon (Mac Anu, Lumina Cloth)". I traded with Alenor (Lumina Cloth), purchase from Empireo guild shop (Breg Epona). Barrels at (Sigma) Paling Kourin's Alga Grass
Steel Crest - "trade with Pen Pen for Holy armor". She never had any for me, so I traded with Nanase Mitabi (Breg Epona) for Holy Cowl, Nagare (Breg Epona)
Health Aroma - "trade with Vergilius (Mac Anu, Lumina Cloth, Dol Dona, Breg Epona) for anti-charm armor". I traded with Schrodinger (Breg Epona) for Health Aroma (directly, no reverse-customizing necessary)
Mind Butterfly - "knights guild "+50% sp" armor". I wish these had been more clearly labled, but I found some from: Demon (+50%) armor from Gem guild shop (Breg Epona), and breakables in the Outer Dungeon from (Delta) Hidden Forbidden Bulwark and a few other areas.
Battle Cosmetics - "trade with Kunio (Mac Anu) or Mile (Mac Anu)". I'm still trying to figure out if customizing them to team members' accessories adds to yours (my casual tests indicate no), but I bought from Empireo guild shop (Breg Epona), traded with KIRIN (Mac Anu), clover (Dol Dona)
Seed of the Land - direct buy from Empireo guild Breg Epona (25% SP reduction all skills), though I've also found a couple PK rewards or chests (usually in the Forest of Pain) that give these attached to a weak accessory

Enemies:
Sea Monster
Sea Guathan - "(Sigma) Petitioning Blue Silver Utopia". Since "Blue Silver" is a late-game Area Word (requiring B+ ranking a 150 area), I went to random areas leveling up Alkaid and Tabby and found some in (Sigma) Cheering Genius's Berserker
Angel
Noble Pain - "(Sigma) Unselfish Bull's Eye Grey Dance". Again, to avoid late-vol 3 Area Words I went around randomly and found some at (Sigma) Cheering Past's Berserker

Is Slepnir still working for doppel? Barely started vol 3, and i'm thinking about getting him now, is there any benefits that early in the game?

Yes, Sleipnir will work for doppel. However, this time around he has that Damage Change ability (converts HP damage to SP) combined with what would be HP Regen 3 and SP Regen 3. Since Sleipnir is gonna hit his HP directly, you're still gonna have to take away all his SP and the rest of his HP before he regenerates.

I would like to impart some info for if and whenever you feel up to enjoying it.

This concerns Avatar Battles in general; mostly for the prevention of further Data Drain usage.

After the initial Data Drain should you see the opponent prepare another Data Drain while shooting with the square button, if you keep up the pressure of shooting at the opposing avatar, you will eventually stun them out of the DD animation sequence.

It will not work against those avatars that do not have Data Drain{AIDA, Cubia Alpha and Cubia Beta}, can't use data drain for certain reasons{Magus}, or are protected by a Paling Gimick that prevents further stun attempts even when they are preparing Data Drain{Corbenik 2nd}

The following Avatar battles are the primary clause for this information to be used:
Innis
Fidchell
Gorre
Macha
Tarvos
Corbenik 1st
Azure Flame God

I hope you will find this information useful in your guide, Zer0
