WARNING!!!!

Post by alphawolf1011 »

I USED THESE ACTION REPLAY CODES THAT WERE POSTED UNDER THE CODES SECTION OF THIS FOURM

Master Code G3ZX-WWNN-YJMRH F5KV-4C1P-6YFZ1
Max Time 57F7-GC47-1WP99 V5BJ-2H49-ZDQXZ
Character Codes (Folder) MEPN-XXFK-28EKJ
Haseo (Select One Level Modifier) *Sub-Folder* GP73-MR4V-Y5R77 JB9E-91K0-74840
Max HP DC3Z-Q07R-XU886 UEZ7-2HZ8-1C9K1 Max SP 0KRK-GNT2-51JBJ X431-HR2N-ETCGB
Max P-DEF PEK3-8J7V-45C9H XKP3-C9GV-1ZXGV
Max M-DEF 4Q67-1GCJ-GKJBG UNVR-MZXP-PN648

THESE ACTION REPLAY CODES CAUSED MY SAVE FILE TO DISAPPEAR!

HERES WHAT HAPPENED.... I INPUT THE CODES AND STARTED MY GAME (MY SAVE FILE WAS STILL THERE AT THE TIME) I THEN CHECKED MY STATS & SAW THE CODES WORKED, I THEN WENT TO THE SAVE THINGY SAN TRYED TO SAVE MY GAME BUT SAW MY SAVE FILE WAS GONE!!!!! SO I MADE A NEW ONE AND RESET MY SYSTEM, WHEN I TRYED TO LOAD THE FILE I JUST SAVED IT WAS GONE!!!! I HAVE OTHER ACTION REPLAY CODES THAT I GOT FROM ANOTHER SITE AND THEY WORKED WITH NO PROBLEMS, IF ANYONE WOULD LIKE ME TO I WILL POST THEM.

That's a risk you take whenever you use cheat devices, which is why most people advise to create a backup save file before using any code.

There is no such thing as "official" codes, as they're usually "generated" by people with the proper tools and not by any "official" sources such like actual developers. Action Replay and Codebreaker codes are meant to ALTER your save file with methods you aren't supposed to use. Games and savefiles aren't meant to be "hacked" like that, and so, you should always consider the risk of getting your data corrupted or entirely gone everytime you use any codes, even if you or other people have already tried the codes and nothing bad has ever happened. Even if a code seems "safe" enough and you've used it before, there's no guarantee that it'll always behave in the same way, especially if you mix them with other codes. Since you're altering the file's data right from its very programming, there are so many things that could go wrong while using them, and cause effects that not even the creators of the codes could've expected.

That said, i don't mean you should stop using codes, and though they aren't recommended (and sometimes not even welcomed) to use, they can also lead to amazing discoveries or a whole new level of entertaining after finishing a game. However, you should ALWAYS keep backups of your save files everytime you use codes, and by backups, i don't mean just to save your data in another file, but use a different memory card. That will surely keep a copy of your files safe even if things get the worst possible.

And if possible, backup your save files to a pendrive or something (don't know about ARMAX, but CodeBreaker has that function).

Dude, the codes for any and all cheat devices, be it from the official website or not, are created by hackers that have no connection to the developer game company at all. That's what TheSorrow meant by "There is no such thing as "official" codes". You're modifying your save data whenever you use the codes, so there is always the risk of something bad happening.

Even some harmless codes can cause problems with a game. For example, I used an action replay code on Megaman Zero to cancel the Command Dash. The thing is, on the 1st and last stages, the "cutscene" makes use of the Command Dash, which made me die before entering the boss room on the 1st stage and after defeating the final boss on the last stage. This isn't an example related to the save game, but I think you get my point.

(Also, beware of "infinite MP" or "999 MP" codes for the ps1 version of Final Fantasy Tactics. Those seem to reduce the magic power of all your characters by a lot, rendering your mages useless)

On a side note,

Not to be rude or anything, but I hate when people type in all caps all the time. There's no need for that all the time, really .-.

Not sure why you revived an almost year long dead topic, but as for that one phrase, I'll quote myself:
