Yeah, anyone who already has a PSP and buys the new model is either rich beyond any frugality or completely anal retentive - imho. I've had my 1000 since the first month the PSP came out. It has duct tape holding the UMD tray and and analog nub that needed to be tweaked a couple time, but it runs custom firmware great and sniff, sniff, it's family.
