Does anybody play the Japanese server?
I started it the other day and it's very similar to the .hack// games, so I figured I'd ask here.
The American release was delayed to who knows when... So a lot of people just downloaded the Japanese client and use an English patch for the menus and some in game info.

Some interesting info: The main ship acts as a central town. Basically a root town. You can see all the other players in there doing whatever. When you accept a mission from the counter you can choose to go solo to try and join another group doing the same mission. Some missions are only for you and your party, other missions are multi-party areas so you'll be able to encounter other players while fighting your way through(Really gave me a .hack// feel when I was going solo through this forest area killing monsters and a giant field boss spawned. Another player happened to be nearby and ran over to help me fight it. Took us nearly 15 minutes to kill it, haha). You also have the option of adding NPC party members for you missions if you want. I assume the further you get in the story the more people you unlock, I only have 2 that I can bring with me right now.
3 main classes. A melee fighter, a magic user (offensive and healing) and a Ranged unit. Every class can use multiple weapon types and each weapon has it's own skills you can unlock. More info: http://phantasystar.wikia.com/wiki/Phan ... r_Online_2
