New Forum Layout.

Post by Erranty »

Could someone clarify the new message key for me? This is all I've got so far.

Seems like the pinkish ones are threads you've checked that haven't gotten any new replies yet, but I don't know the difference between the black and white outlines. Maybe it's whether or not you've posted in a thread?

I'm impressed with the admins. This is niiiiiiice.

I have no idea - good luck! 8) The icons may change in the near future, but the full colored ubuntu logo = new posts.

What I'm working out so far is.

Black Border = You've posed in it.
White Border = You haven't posted in it.

Bold Color = New, unread.
Faded Color = Read.

But then there some weird crap where threads I've started and posted in have super pale colors, and a white border...

If you crack the code and figure it out, let me know - that nice image table you made can go in the message board rules post. :D

Well, this is all I have so far.

I can't think of the difference between the white bordered regular posts and the black bordered ones. I've ruled out pictures, polls, moderation, getting quoted, friends posting in them, recent popularity, and necromancy. If you can think of anything else that might be a factor that'd differentiate them it'd put an end to this.

Its clearly not random, but I just can find a distinguishing feature in the posts.

I never got in the habit of doing that because most of the stuff I check isn't really labeled as anything but numbers when I look at it.

And to be honest, that description doesn't really fit when stuff on page 2 that hasn't been touched in months is still labeled hot.

Just to note that the design fits now any resolution. Well done :)

Some boards I've seen mark a thread as hot if it gets 10~20 posts in a set time and then let it as hot forever until it gets locked '-'
